The information might not be accurate because it can be changed at any time by anyone.
The number one problem would have to be do not trust what people on wiki say. Most of it is either incorrect or made up by random people.
PROBLEMS
Myles>>> problems with wikis is that the information can be wrong because people have just added random stuff that they wanted to put on it.
also there are problems with people adding personal information about thenselves and other people because they are not fully educated about internet safety and privacy. therefore possibly giving you information to cyber predators etc... E.g Rob on wikipedia he made a page called the Funky Drunk Hippy Bears.
James>>> problem about wikis on the internet would have to be about the infortmation that is given.. some of it could me fake or made up or just some random people going on and changing the information. Another main problem would be giving out personal infortmation and there would be predators who could hack into ur computer and you would lose alot of detials.
Problems With Using Wikis
(Scott)
Problems with wikis is that information that has been added and created by other people could be incorrect or inappropriate. Another large problem is that people can add anything which could include personal information about selected people. Also people that add these things may not be educated about the internets saftey and privacy rules and guidelines. Therefore you could possibily be giving information to cyber predators (Computer Hackers) this could possibily lead to losing your personal details. For example bank pin numbers, your name, children, and where you live.
Problems (Daniel) >>>
- The success of the Wikipedia may not necessarily be replicated elsewhere.
- There is not (yet) a standard lightweight Wiki markup language.
- A collaborative Wiki may suffer from a lack of a strong vision or leadership.
- Can be ineffective when there is a lack of consensus.
- There may be copyright and other legal issues regarding collaborative content.
- It may be difficult for Wikis to gain momentum.
Some of the biggest problems are if people post inaproriate stuff on a wiki which causes harm to some one. Also if some one posts somthing that is copy righted or illegal they can get into trouble for that aswell. Also you have to be careful of the preditors out there and make sure your smart and safe when using a wiki.

One of the main problems with wikis is that they can be edited by anyone. Because of this, someone can easily change your work. For example; your work could be on William Shakespeare. Next time you look, it could be on Pokemon the Movie. Sometimes people even delete a mass amount of information from the wikis. They make scripts to access the wiki sites in order to delete them. So sometimes it can get pretty frustrating. People use that method as a form of advertising as well.
In theory, the problem with wikis is people, so one way you could fix this problem is to get rid of the people… that can view your wiki and edit things. Most wikis have settings that you can use to make your wiki have fewer problems.
Jacob>>> One of the big problems with wiki sites is that the information can be false in formation because anybody could edit the page. Also people can use your wiki site as a form of advertising which is called spamming. You should not post any innappropiate information on wiki sites as it can be offensive to others, and its also illegal its called cyber bullying.

Jake
Some of the problems with wikis are people ruining pages for fun, spammers, people putting information that they think is correct but actually isn't. The problems all circle around people abusing the websites and none about viruses.
Sacha- There is a lot of problems with a wiki there could be hackers that could infiltrate your computer and get into your bank details. There is also viruses hiding in any file when opened the virus could attack. Your computer probably wouldn’t be active. Even people putting on personal information for anyone to look at like Scammers, Hackers and more.
