Overview of the Course

3	Blogging. How to maintain it. Other problems. Potential uses. How to Analyse a Website.
4	Blogging. Examples of good practice. Group FAQs.	Blogging Assignment due Wednesday of week 4. However, entries are expected at least once a week. As well as answers to the questions, I will be reviewing the set up and structure of your blog for simplicity, ease of use and the way you have personalised it.
5	Introduction to Creating a Wiki. What are they. The The Year 9 ICT Wiki	Wiki Assignment Blogs entries continue.
6	Wikis. How to start. Privacy and Safety Issues
7	Wikis. How to maintain them. Other problems. Potential uses.
8	Wikis. Examples of good practice. Group FAQs.
9	Wikis. Final week.	Wiki Assignment due Wednesday of week 9. Again, blog entries expected at least once per week. As well your contribution to the class wiki will be reviewed and your answers to the questions will be assessed - add your answers to your blog.
10	Introduction to Social Networking types, uses.	Social Networking Assignment Should Social Networking be banned in schools? Continue blog entries.
11	Social Networking: privacy and security issues	Presentation (to be uploaded to SlideShare): should Social Networking be banned in schools? by Thursday of week 11.
12	Podcasts: Introduction. What are they? Using Podcast Software. Choosing a topic Creating a script for podcast. Look here for some ideas	By the end of Week 15.Create online simple podcast (see Assignments for details) Create working mp3 file using Audacity. Continue blog entries.
13	Podcasts. Privacy, safety and copyright issues.	Add sound effects and rearrange tracks and parts of tracks. Aim to add a commentary to ONE page of your social networking assignment.
14	Podcasts. How to edit and store them. Problems and uses.	Start to put together pieces of your podcast. Remember you can record it in parts and add it later - but you must be organised!
15	Podcasts. Examples of useful ones. Creating screencasts using Camstudio.	Drafts due - folks you should be just about finished here. You should be fine tuning only.
16	Podcasts - Group FAQ. Vodcasts and online videos (You Tube). Uses and issues.	Podcast Assignment due Thursday of week 15 (Term 2, week 5). Final podcast due. Blog entries also used in assessment.
17	Student Choice of Task. Create blog, wiki or podcast of own choice.	Continue blog entries.
18	Student choice of task.	Continue blog entries.
19	Student choice of task.	Continue blog entries. Get feedback on your task this week.
20	Student choice of task.	Final task due Thursday of Week 20 (Term 2, Week 10). You will be assessed on the usefulness of your final product. Blogs are also considered.
